Parking

Please note that all vehicles parked at either Old Mill Marina location must display a valid parking pass (seasonal or daily). Parking passes are available for purchase at either marina store and are designed to hang from a vehicle's rear view mirror.

Slip Availability
First priority for slips goes to customers who store their boats year round at Old Mill Marina. For customers not requiring winter storage, slips are subject to annual availability.

March 1, 2016

Dear Customer,

Greetings from Kawagama Lake! We’ve had a strange winter here in Dorset, as any winter sports fan or snowmobiler could attest to! After two years of a May ice out, we seem to be on track for a return to mid to late April for ice out this year.

Your slip invoice is attached to this letter. We are happy to announce that we’ve held our slip rental rates steady this year – the only change on the invoice compared to last year is the extra parking pass, which has increased from $125 to $150. Daily parking passes will increase to $15 plus HST this year also.

Our slip rebuilding program was paused this year. Ice conditions just were not there for the heavy equipment that needs to be used on the ice to rebuild the covered slips. The process of rebuilding the covered slips is taking longer than we anticipated, so this spring we plan to go through all the slips, replacing boards, dock rings and cleats as required. We anticipate having this all done ahead of the May long weekend. Over the course of the summer, if your slip requires any attention (loose board, missing ring, etc…), please let our service counter staff know. We will use our work order scheduling system to ensure that prompt attention is paid to any issues.

We are working towards creating a designated Service slip area on one of our floating docks here at the marina. We have a limited number of open and covered slips available this year. We anticipate moving a number of customers around this year, and anticipate that a designated Service slip area will help alleviate boats being tied up in the wrong slip. If you would like to have your slip moved here at the marina, or would like to upgrade from Open to Covered, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s preferences.

As we mentioned last year in this letter, we have closed the ramp to public use. In the case where a slip customer needs to use the ramp, Old Mill Marina staff will assist and the ramp fee will reflect labour time to have a yard person help at the ramp. We would ask that customers arrange for furniture or construction material deliveries to take place at the public landing and docks at Russell Landing, where the delivery drivers have more space to turn around, unload, and aren’t weaving through a busy parking lot.

We will be returning to the Spring Cottage Life Show this year, taking place April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you plan to attend, please be sure to stop by the Old Mill Marina booth and say hi.

We want to thank each of you for your continued support in choosing Old Mill Marina for your boating needs. Here is looking forward to a warm, sunny, bug-free summer!

Sincerely,

Rob & Jen Walisser
