Located on Marina Bay on the southwest arm of Kawagama Lake, Old Mill Marina was established in 1955 as a launching point for cottagers. Still a landing and destination point today, over 100 cottages rely on Old Mill Marina as a safe port to slip their boats every summer.
* Closed Sundays after Thanksgiving
In addition to the extensive covered and open slips, Old Mill's Kawagama location is a full service operation offering Boat Sales, Service, Storage, General Store, Premium Fuel and the mandatory Kawartha Dairy Scoop Ice Cream counter. Under the guidance of Rob Walisser, the property has become an example of sustainable development within the Ontario marine industry, and in 2014, Old Mill Marina was a proud recipient of the Robert Eaton Environmental Award for excellence in environmental practices.
The Kawagama location is home to the marina's storage facilities. With the region's only secure, sealed storage buildings, there is over 27,000 square feet of new storage facilities. Over 10,000 square feet of this is heated to about 5C, providing the best storage in the province. These buildings were designed with an eye on creating a new opportunity for customers to store their boats with a peace of mind not found elsewhere in the industry.
In 2012, a new service and store facility was built at the marina. The service shop is a 4 bay drive through facility capable of repairing four 25' boats within its walls. The 14' high 24' wide doors on either end allow for a truck and trailer to stay connected while the boat is serviced inside during the winter months, making it one of the few true year round service facilities in Haliburton and Muskoka. The new store and showroom are a great facility for Kawagama cottagers all summer.
