When you join our Kawagama News electronic newsletter, you have the option of joining our Slip Information List as well.  Membership in this list means you will receive periodic updates from Old Mill Marina about slips, as well as moving towards having your invoices going out online.

First priority for all slips goes to customers who store their boats year round at Old Mill Marina. Slips for customers not requiring winter storage are subject to annual availability. Marine Lease Agreements are now a requirement for all slip rentals. These are included with the slip invoices mailed out in the spring.

 

Slip Availability & Waiting List

We have one slip that has become available in 2010.  It is slip "G01" on our Marina Layout - the western most slip on the property. You can drive directly to the slip for loading and unloaded. This slip is suitable for a bigger boat, and we supply mooring whips to help deal with water level drops over the summer.  All other slips remain full.  We have a waiting list for both covered and open slips. If you are interested in renting a slip at Old Mill Marina, please contact Rob to discuss your options and ensure your place on the waiting list.  For those of our customers who are infrequent cottagers, we also have the ability to offer you Dry Storage.  If this would be of interest, please contact Rob to discuss this option. 

 

Our 2010 Slip Rental Rates are not changing. With the change coming to our provincial and national sales taxes, this will be the last year of having only GST on your slip invoice.  Next year, slip rentals will be subject to 13% HST, rather than just 5% GST.

 

New Old Mill Marina Colour Map!

We have a PDF file with a colour layout of the marina, with all docks, slips, and parking areas denoted. We currently do not have any available slips for rent, but in the future if we do, we will highlight them using this map. In the mean time, you can print a copy of this file and mark your slip location, so that any friends or family using your cottage know where your slip is at the marina. While we have internal copies of this map with names labeling each slip, we will not post this to the internet, as we feel this would violate our customers' privacy. If you would like to double check with us which slip number you rent, we are happy to let you know.

 

New Services Offered to Old Mill Marina Slip Holders in 2010!

As outlined in the letter that accompanied our slip invoices on March 1, 2010, Old Mill Marina is offering two new services to our slip holders this year. 

 

The first is a new refueling program.  We know that some of our customers arrive late on Friday nights, and return after business hours on Sundays, making refueling difficult.  The program is simple - every Thursday, we take the list of boats signed up for this service, start each one up individually, drive it to the fuel dock, fuel it up, and return it to the slip.  You can either request that we do this every week automatically on Thursday mornings, or you can set it up so that you notify us no later than 5pm on Wednesday to have your boat included in the Thursday morning fuel up.  To enrol in this program, you need to have a credit card on file with Old Mill Marina, and you need to leave your boat keys at the marina office or in your ignition.  We are pleased to offer this as a free service for our slip customers - all you pay is for the gasoline put into your boat.  If you would find this new service of value, please contact us to discuss your options.

 

The second new service we are offering this year is summer season boat cleaning.  Also taking place on Thursdays from May through August, we can clean your boat for you, making sure everything is ready to go when you arrive for the weekend.  Options include an exterior wash off or a more detailed scrub down with biodegradable cleaners and a brush.  For interiors, we also offer vacuum and wipe down of all interior surfaces.  This service is also available on a weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed basis.  Please contact us if you would like more details.

 

Parking

A quick note on parking.  With our upcoming winter storage expansion to 1569 Russell Landing Road, we will start using the current upper level storage yard here at the marina to increase our parking capacity.  We recognize that there is a steep hill involved in getting to this parking area.  (For those that do not know where the laneway is, it is located adjacent to our house, angling up the hill behind the winter storage buildings at the rear of the parking lot - it is clearly marked on the coloured map of the marina.)

 

Starting in 2010, we will ask those of our customers with SUVs, 4x4's or All Wheel Drive vehicles to start to use this parking area during busy weekends in the summer.  We will be building a walkway to assist with getting up and down the hill, with some stairs to help on the steep parts. As well, during business hours, our staff will be happy to use our golf cart to pick you up or drop you off at your vehicle!
